Floor care tips for Everyday Cleaning
Even though you’ve contracted the best commercial custodial business in the Las Vegas area, there are still times when you might need to spot clean a floor. Maybe it’s midday and an employee spilled liquid and you have a client coming in for an important meeting. Or, perhaps you’ve just moved into a new office and there are stubborn furniture imprints on a carpet floor, just ahead of a tour coming through your new space.
In between professional cleanings, there are a few things you can do to keep your floors looking amazing. Here are our best tips for everyday floor care. Keep in mind, every floor is different, so the floor’s material often will dictate what cleaning method is needed. Wiping up spills immediately is a best practice, as the longer they sit the harder time you may have cleaning them off.
How to clean carpet
In between OV Cleans visits, spot-treat a stain or spill with a carpet stain remover product. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and target the stain directly and immediately. For those imprints and indents left by heavy office furniture, rub an ice cube on the marks. That should help relieve the indent and restore the carpet to its former height.
How to clean laminate floors
Protection is key for laminate. Pads under furniture legs, keeping ahead of any spills or drips, and wiping up grit from the floor regularly will help laminate floors stay scratch-free and shining. Wiping with a damp cloth will remove many marks on a laminate floor, but be sure not to use soap or wax polish on these floors. Leave the heavier stains and marks to a professional commercial cleaning service so that we can be sure to treat your floor with the care it deserves. We have the tools and products to ensure your floor stays beautiful.
How to clean wood floors
In between professional cleanings, wood floors really only need to be swept if need be. If there’s a spill, a lightly dampened cloth should do the trick, as long the floor is sealed. Wood floor maintenance can be tricky if the floor is waxed, so we do recommend leaving that aspect to a professional, commercial cleaning service as we’re able to identify when the floors need to be polished or when wax needs to be removed to preserve the floor’s beautiful integrity.
How to clean linoleum floors
Sweeping or vacuuming should remove most lint, and if need be a damp cloth can help with spills in between cleanings.
Floor care is just one of our passions at OV Cleans, and we want to help you maintain your flooring in between professional cleanings as much as possible. We hope you enjoyed these floor care tips for everyday cleaning.
